Opa! It's my new restaurant
Gus Kapnisis has made a special effort to drive by the community's former bus barn with each visit to downtown West Union in recent weeks. While driving by the structure, his smile would grow larger, knowing that each day brought him closer to returning to his longtime customers and re-joining the local business community.
As the proprietor of Gus & Tony's Town House, which was destroyed by fire at its original location on N. Vine Street in May 2012, Kapnisis has been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to announce his intentions to relocate the historic restaurant to the corner of S. Vine and E. Plum.
Kapnisis reported Monday that he signed an in-tent-to-purchase agreement last week with Main Street West Union (MSWU) for the former bus barn.
