Kapnisis sets school record for blocks

Once again, North Fayette girls' basketball dominated the Valley girls. This time the score was 52-31 Friday in West Union.

North Fayette’s Vicky Kapnisis (44) is a shot-blocking machine as Valley’s Mallory Burrack (15) found out when she tried to drive the lane Friday night in West Union. Also in the action is NF’s Stephanie Nuss (42). Kapnisis came into the weekend with 83 blocks, tying her for second in Class 2A and for third in the entire state. She added 10 more Friday night giving her 963, eight more than Tammy Lansing’s single-season mark set in 2005-2006. (Jerry Wadian photo)
