With the new scoreboard entertaining the fans, North Fayette Valley held its annual Sports Drink Scrimmage on Thursday, Aug. 22.

The TigerHawk varsity looked impressive while playing the JV. The defense controlled the first quarter before the offense took over and dominated the second quarter.

“I saw that we have some really good athletes with a lot of team speed,” explained head coach Bob Lape. “We tried some different combinations and saw that we can interchange some people.”

Coach’s Corner

Coach’s Corner

NF (0-0, 0-0)) @ Postville (0-0, 0-0)

“I don’t know a thing about them,” stated North Fayette Valley head coach Bob Lape.

Postville is on its third head coach in as many years. While fans may not know what to expect from the Pirates on offense or defense, they should remember that Postville does have some quality athletes on the squad.

Last year Postville used some big plays to keep it close for a while, trailing 21-13 at the half and 28-19 midway through the third quarter. Eventually the Pirates lost, 35-25.

“We’ll have to adjust on the fly,” Lape explained in talking about a game plan. “In all honesty, I’m not worrying about what they do. At this point, all I can worry about is what we do and how to get us ready for week three when district play opens.”
