Fair dates change with carnival booking

A contract has been signed with Merriam’s Midway Shows to be the featured carnival during the 2014 Fayette County Fair. In booking the Somerset, Texas-based company, the local fair board was required to change the fair dates to Tuesday, July 29-Sunday, Aug. 3.

“We (fair board) look forward to this (Merriam’s agreement) being the first of many steps in making the Fayette County Fair bigger and better each and every year,” said board president Ryan Sparrgrove on Thursday, while reporting the additional Sunday fair date in 2014.
