Fifth graders at South Winneshiek recently completed the required curriculum and graduated from the Drug Abuse Resistance and Education (D.A.R.E.) program.

The graduation ceremony featured several students reading their essays, as well as guest speeches from D.A.R.E. Officer Tim Felton, Winneshiek County Sheriff Leon Bohr, and KWWL news anchor Ron Steele.

This graduation was special for several reasons. The class was the 114th graduating class that longtime D.A.R.E. Officer Tim Felton has mentored. It was also the final graduating class that Winneshiek County Sheriff Leon Bohr will oversee before he retires later in 2015.
