The Warriors edged Central-Elkader by a half-point to take top honors in the event.

The South Winneshiek girls’ track and field team competed at the Decorah Girls’ Invite Friday, April 10.

The Warriors brought home fifth place at the Invite, led by a first place finish in the 4x800.

The South Winneshiek boys’ and girls’ golf teams kicked off their seasons Monday, April 6, in Waukon.

The boys were able to build and maintain a comfortable lead over the Indians, while the girls were edged in a close match and look to improve as the season progresses.

The South Winneshiek Future Direction Committee met Wednesday night, April 8, for the first of two meetings scheduled for this month.

To open the meeting, the subcommittee assigned to the task presented a revised mission statement to the committee. It reads: “The South Winneshiek Future Direction Committee has been commissioned to evaluate current and projected budgets and strategies for the purpose of developing strategic partnerships and innovative solutions for the long-term success of the district.”

The revised statement was discussed and voted upon, resulting in a unanimous decision to adopt the mission statement.

South Winneshiek shared Superintendent Clark Goltz presented information on several options for the committee to consider in the process of making its recommendation to the school board in October.
