Fascination with WWI leads to learning, understanding

North Fayette Valley senior Joey Giddens has completed his senior Capstone project “World War II: Beyond the Soldiers.” The project, which included a 10-page paper and a PowerPoint presentation, focused on how the war changed the lives of many civilians who lived in the countries that were involved in the conflict.

Since he was a young child, Joey Giddens has always been interested in the aircraft and ships used to fight World War II. The strategic confrontations between the United States and Japanese navies, as well as the battles in the air between U.S. and German forces, often captured his imagination. Therefore, it really wasn’t much of a surprise when Giddens, a senior at North Fayette Valley High School, decided to do his Capstone project on World War II history.
