In northeast Iowa, farming is a term that is familiar to everyone. Winneshiek County is plenty familiar with corn, soybean, hog, and cattle farming. Even poultry, goats, and sheep can be found around the county.
In 2015, however, a new type of farming made its debut in Ridgeway. In what was once filled with chalkboards, books, and desks, Sherlock Shrimp moved into the former Ridgeway Elementary School. The name was derived from a twist on both the building’s history and a phrase spoken by a world-famous detective, its “elementary, my dear.”
