Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in Fayette

A Mass of Christian Burial for Susan M. Fagle, 50, of Fayette was celebrated by the Rev. James P. Brokman on Saturday, April 6, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Fayette.

Interment was in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Independence.

Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, was in charge of arrangements.

Susan’s death occurred Tuesday evening, April 2, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

Susan Marie Fagle, daughter of Delores Ann (Reed) Fagle Thom and the late Dwaine John Fagle, was born July 25, 1962, in Independence.

Susie attended the Antes Center Vocational School in West Union and graduated from West Central High School.  

She worked at the Stanley Vocational Center and later at Goodwill.  Later, Susie attended Davis Adult Care Center in Independence.  

She had lived in her own apartment with supervised living and had received services from Full Circle.    

Bowling and spending time with her friends were among her favorite activities.

Most recently Susie had been in the nursing home and resided at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette. 

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, her father, and a sister-in-law, Sally Fagle.

Susie is survived by her mother, Delores Fagle Thom of Fayette; her stepfather, William “Bill” Thom of Fayette; three brothers, Robert Fagle of Randalia, Daniel (Melissa) Fagle of Fayette, and Douglas Fagle of Hazleton; three sisters, Teresa (Dan) Gloede of Sumner, Kathleen (Jeff) Dumermuth of West Des Moines, Mary Kay (David) Roach of Eldorado; many nieces and nephews. 

A memorial fund in Susan Fagle’s name has been established for Maple Crest Manor and Goodwill.
