Celebration of Life service to be held Saturday in Waverly

Kaylee R. Fisher, 21, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waverly, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City from complications of cystic fibrosis.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Waverly with Pastor Deborah Coble Wise officiating.

Cremation will follow the service. 

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 5, at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly and for an hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly is in charge of arrangements.

Kaylee Ruth Fisher was born May 5, 1992, to Tim and Susan (Pitts) Fisher. 

She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity United Methodist Church in Waverly.  

Kaylee was a 2010 graduate of Waverly-Shell Rock High School, where she was active in volleyball and flags. 

She worked at Applebee’s in Waverly and most recently at the National Dance Academy in Cedar Falls. She was currently attending Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, where she was working toward a degree in psychology.

Kaylee was a vibrant and fun person. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and going shopping.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Pitts-Fisher; her paternal grandfather, Maurice Fisher; her paternal grandmother, Ruth Fisher; an uncle; and an aunt.

Kaylee is survived by her father, Tim (Bonnie) Fisher of West Union; a brother, Cody Fisher of Minneapolis, Minn.; three stepbrothers, Jake (Liz) Skurdal of Madrid, Ia., Nick (Alicia) Skurdal and Matt Skurdal, both of Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
