Championships on the line at FCS

The season championships at the Fayette County Speedway will be determined this Friday as Budweiser sponsors the final race of the season.

The battles are close in four of the six classes. Calmar’s Lynn Panos is assured of a title in the Stock class. Paul Seabrooke has an 82-point lead over fellow Elgin native Jerrod Torkelson in the Flyers.

In the contested classes, three drivers are within 15 points of each other in the  B-Mods. Hobby Stock drivers Steve Larson and Josh Ludeking of Decorah are within 15 points of each other, and there are four drivers within 14 points of each other in the 600 Mod-Lite class. Finally, in the 2-Man Cruisers  three drivers all have a chance with just eight points separating the leaders.

In the regular races held on Friday, Aug. 16, Seabrooke clinched the title in the Flyers with his eighth win of the season, while Torkelson came in ninth.

With his win Friday, John Griffin vaulted to the lead in the 600 Mod-Lite class.

Waukon natives Matt Jones and Brady Link won the B-Mod and Hobby Stock features, respectively. Lynn Panos won his sixth feature of the season in the Stock class; it was also the 11^th time the Calmar native has finished in the top five. Dave Rosburg won the 2-Man Cruisers feature, making it four checkered flags this year for the Arlington native.
