Sarah Henning and Jared Staal of Grand Rapids, Mich., wish to announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

Parents of the couple are Randy and Denise Henning of Elgin, Joan Staal of Grandville, Mich., and Thomas Staal of Hudsonville, Mich.

A 2003 Valley High School graduate, Sarah earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and marketing in 2006 and a Master of Health Care Administration in 2008 from the University of Iowa.  She is also pursuing a Master of Science in complementary and alternative medicine from the American College of Healthcare Sciences.  She is a director of Business Development at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids.

Jared graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology in 2005 and a Bachelor of Information Systems and Business in 2007.  He is pursuing a Master of Healthcare Informatics at Walden University.  He is a senior informatics analyst at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids.  Jared is also the owner of Praenote Group, an informatics and analytics consulting firm.   

The couple are planning a 4:30 p.m. wedding on Oct. 5 at Calvin College Chapel in Grand Rapids.
