Lyle William Guenther was born on May 7th, 1935 in Eldorado, the son of Hardy and Adleen (Danks) Guenther. He graduated from North High in 1952 and retired from Interstate Power Company in 1997.

On Feb. 11 1956, he was united in marriage to Jo Ann Herschinger. He is a member of the United Methodist Church in West Union.

He loved FISHING, Iowa Hawkeye and Minnesota Viking football, mushroom hunting and traveling to see all the grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann of West Union; four sons, Clint Guenther, of San Antonio, TX , Steven (Bea) Guenther, West Union , Terry Guenther, of Las Vegas, Nevada and Clay (Sandra) Guenther of Las Vegas , Nevada; one daughter Pamela (Scott) Millegan of Peele, Arkansas; nine grandchildren Brad (Natalie) Guenther, Katie Newman, Jordon Guenther, JoAnna Guenther, Jacob Guenther, Joshua Guenther, Natasha Guenther, Adena Guenther and Gunner Guenther; four great grandchildren Gage, Jace, Tate and Reed; sister-in Law Colleen Guenther: nephew Jeff Guenther; and two great nieces Alannah Guenther and Cory Boel.

He was preceded by his parents; three brothers, Robert, Richard and Gerald; grandson, Brian Castle; and a niece, Jennifer Imbus.

Memorials may be given to Palmer Hospice or the United Methodist Church of West Union.

Lyle passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Traditions in West Union.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church in West Union, with a one hour visitation prior to the service.

A public visitation was Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 6:00 pm until 8:30 p.m. at the Burnham-Wood Funeral Home.
