The North Fayette Valley 2013 football team will have its first unofficial appearance on Ron Wymer Field Thursday, Aug. 22.

The annual Sports Drink Scrimmage will give fans a glimpse of the team for just the cost of a bottle of any kind of sports drinks, which are vital for the players’ hydration during the season.

The big evening will kick off at 6:30 p.m., with the  freshmen playing the sophomores; the varsity scrimmage will follow at 7:30 p.m.

None of the teams will be in their new uniforms. Fans will have to go to Postville on Friday, Aug. 29 to see the new look or wait until Oelwein comes calling on Friday, Sept. 6.

However, fans will get to see all 72 NFV football players in action (there are 32 on the freshman team alone!).

With 28 returning letterwinners, there is a lot of competition at every position, which should make the scrimmage even livelier than most.

For just the cost of a sports drink, fans will be able to get a glimpse of what this first edition of TigerHawk football has to offer.
