Services held for Geneva (Osmundson) Meinecke

Geneva Lillian “Gee” (Osmundson) Meinecke, 66, of Decorah, Iowa died Friday, September 6, 2013 at Wellington Place, Decorah. She was born on February 15, 1947 in West Union, Iowa to Nanfred and Myrtle (Ruroden) Osmundson. Gee was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Church, Ossian, Iowa. She graduated from North High School, West Union, Iowa in 1965.

Gee was united in marriage with Larry Rainwater in May of 1966 at Bethany Church and was later divorced, she then married Joel Meinecke in 1971 and was later divorced. She worked at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids and then the Public Defender’s Office in Topeka, Kansas for fourteen years. Gee lived in Kansas until 2006, she then moved to Decorah. She was a member of the Red Hat Society at Wellington Place and enjoyed gardening, cooking and playing piano.

Gee is survived by her five brothers and sisters, Lyla Molokken of Clermont, Norman Osmundson of Marion, Gaylord (Barb) Osmundson of Cedar Rapids, Diane (David) Lensing of Postville and Ardith (Ron Ramsey) Stockman of Decorah and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gee was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Delores Osmundson in infancy, Eleanor Wilson and Kenny Osmundson.

Visitation was on Monday, September 9, 2013 from 10-11 am at Bethany Church, Ossian, Iowa.

Funeral Services was at 11 am on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Bethany Church, Ossian, Iowa, with Rev. Marshall Nessa as the officiant.

Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Postville, Iowa is helping the family with the arrangements.
