Main Street Minute

As spokesperson for Main Street West Union this week, We appreciate very much all of you who donated to or volunteered at the metal fundraising effort for our organization and the Fayette County Fair this past weekend.  We were pleased to partner with the Fair Board on this project and extend our appreciation to them as well.

We are looking forward to the upcoming Block Party on Thursday, Sept. 19. Organized by our local merchants, expect a great day in West Union with specials in many stores, tastings, treats, and great music on the Plaza featuring the band Wichita (5-8 p.m.). Main Street West Union will be cooking up some awesome homemade potato chips, so look for us downtown that evening!

The rest of the year is going to go by quickly for our Main Street organization, as we have events planned in each of the three remaining months.  More details will be forthcoming, but mark your calendars for Sunday, Oct. 13, for our Harvest Hot Beef Fundraising Dinner; Saturday, Nov. 23, for our “Mistletoe and Merriment” Annual Meeting; and a Holiday Stroll and Snowball Drop on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

We are always looking for people who may be interested in serving as a board member or on one of our four committees:  Business Improvement, Design, Organization, and Promotion.  We work hard and have lots of fun while fulfilling our mission of preserving, enhancing and promoting our community as a vibrant place to shop, work and live.  Contact our office at 422-8655 – we’d love to have you on our team!
