New Food Shelf location and hours

At an emergency meeting held Monday, Jan. 6, the Fayette County Food Shelf Board approved moving to a temporary location in the Northeast Iowa Professional Building at 201 E. Clark Street, Room 109, in Fayette.

Currently, workers are accepting food and monetary donations, as well as freezers, refrigerators, and office equipment to get back into operation for those needing assistance in Fayette County.

Fayette County Food Shelf will be open 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursdays.

Board members are also planning four pancake breakfast fundraisers, the first to take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Arlington.

The local Food Shelf was destroyed by fire on New Year’s Eve.
