In a rain-postponed event on Friday, the Lady Warriors competed strong and reigned supreme at the North Fayette Valley Invitational, winning by three points over the host team. Earlier in the week, the South Winn girls finished third against much larger schools at Hudson to finish fourth with 65.50 points.

At Hudson

Shining brightly at Hudson was junior Brittany Shindelar, who claimed gold in the shot put with a heave of 35’4”.

Freshman Josie Kriener maintained a steady pace in the 1500m run and crossed the finish line in second place in 5:25.68.

Strong as ever in the 400m hurdles was senior Kennidee DeVilbiss, who finished second in a time of 1:13.84.

Abby Phillips and Lexie Warth each grabbed bronze in the high jump and 100m hurdles to close out the Warriors’ top three finishers.

After being rained out on Thursday, the Lady Warriors hit the TigerHawk track on Friday in a makeup meet.

Lexie Warth returned to top form in the 100m hurdles to break the tape in 16.87 for gold. She also flew through the air in the long jump to garner second place with 15’6”.

Improving with each meet, Kennidee DeVilbiss glided over the 400m hurdles to claim gold for South Winn.

The team’s final gold came from the 4x800 quartet of Tiana Bullerman, DeVilbiss, Josie Kriener, and RaeAnn Klimesh.

A multitude of individuals earned silver for the Warriors, including Shindelar in the shot put, Phillips in the high jump, Becca Hertges in the 400m, and Kriener in the 800m.

Relays earning silver included the shuttle hurdle, 4x100, and 4x400.

On Tuesday, April 29, the Lady Warriors ran at Clayton Ridge, but team scores and results were unavailable at press time. On Thursday, the South Winn girls will travel to a coed meet at Crestwood.
