Grace Marie Kamaus, 63, died Sunday, May 4, in West Union, IA.

Services for Grace were held Friday May 9, 2014 at 10:30 am at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eldorado, Iowa.

Visitation was held Thursday May 8, 2014 from 4 pm until 8 pm at the Burnham-Wood & S.K. Rogers Funeral Home in West Union, Iowa and an hour before the service at the church.

Grace Marie Kamaus was born Dec. 12, 1950 in Dubuque, Iowa to Earl and Leona Streif. Grace was baptized on Dec. 15, 1952 at St. Clemen's Church in Bankston, Iowa.  She was confirmed on March 22, 1965 at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union, Iowa.  

On April 17, 1971 she was united in marriage to James "Jim" Kamaus at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union. They had 2 sons, Alan and Brad. Grace enjoyed cross-stiching, baking sweets, decorating her home inside and out. She was a very caring person, enjoying her time with her friends, neighbors and especially with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; her two sons, Alan (Gertrude) Kamaus and Brad Kamaus, both of West Union; a granddaughter, Jessica and grandson Justin, both of West Union; mother, Leona Streif of West Union, her brothers, Duane (Mary) Streif of Elgin, Jack (Bonnie) Streif of Springville, Mike (Linda) Streif of West Union, Paul Streif of Lansing, Dale (Linn) Streif of West Union and Gary (Susan) Streif of West Union; sisters, Mary (Tom) Trewin of Lawler, Diane Thorson of West Union, Barb (Harold) Peterson of Urbana, Joyce (Robert) McFarland of Randalia, Kathy (Brian) Beane of West Union; and many nieces and nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father; sisters, Helen Streif and Nancy Streif; and brothers, Thomas Streif and Lawrence Streif.
