Laurence L. Durnan, 63, of Waterloo, died Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.
A traditional Irish Wake was held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 30, at Jameson’s Public House in Waterloo with additional services held later in August.
Richardson Funeral Service assisted the family.

He was born October 9, 1950, in Decorah, son of Philip and Lena Sanquist Durnan. He married Nancy Brown in June 1970, and they later divorced.
He graduated from St. Francis De Sales High School in Ossian in 1968 and attended the University of Northern Iowa. He was employed as a systems analyst with John Deere and Rockwell International.
Survived by: son, Brian (Sara) Durnan of New Hartford; daughter, Andrea (Ira) Fratrik of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren: Ali, Kailey and Montana, Jocelyn, Julia and Annabeth; a sister, Marilee (Clyde) Jensen of Arizona; and special friend, Gail Pursell-Elliott of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: his parents; four brothers, Jerold, Daniel, Thomas and David Durnan; and two sisters, Beverly Reeves and Phyllis Marsden.
