It took waiting out a long rain delay, but North Fayette Valley started its history as a baseball squad in grand style Tuesday, May 27, in Waukon as the TigerHawks pasted the Indians, 17-3, in five innings.

The next day, NFV dropped its first game of the season, 4-1, at Aplington-Parkersburg.

In Waukon, NFV opened the season with a bang on Sam Danker’s three-run shot in the first  inning. NFV still led, 4-3, after Waukon scored three in the bottom of the second.

It was 5-3 at the end of four when the TigerHawks put the game away with a 12-run inning in the top of the fifth.
