Blue Devils win 2 in UIC

West Central has a blend of youth and experience on its 2014 softball team. The experience comes from its three seniors, two juniors, and a pair of sophomores. Two freshmen combine with four eighth-graders to give the Blue Devils promise for the future. Playing softball this summer are (front, l-r) Braidyn Buhrow, Mary Scott, Bailey Bergman, and Mary Michels; (row two) Jayln Brownell, Madee Grimm, Faith Stickfort, Anna Barry, and Brianne Martin; (row three) assistant coach Chris Sanford, Lauren Fink, Kenzie Squires, Rachel Dolf, Jamie Barry, Kaitlyn Ruff, assistant coach Brianne Sharff, and head coach Nick Robinson. Blue Devils win 2 in UIC

It was a big week for West Central softball last week as the Blue Devils won two games, both in the conference, to move to 3-9 this season. The three wins are more than the Devils won all of last season. They had not won a UIC game since July 2, 2012, when they beat Kee, 11-1, in Maynard.
