It was a pair of third-place finishes for the South Winn girls’ cross country team last week at Waukon and Independence.

Hampered by injuries and inexperience, the SW boys’ team opted to compete as a junior varsity squad at both meets.

On Tuesday, Sept. 23, the Lady Warriors were once again paced by freshman Felicity Taylor and sophomore Josie Kriener, both of whom finished in the top 10. RaeAnn Klimesh clocked 18:07 with Jessica Lechtenberg on her heels at 18:11 to finish in 26th and 27th places, respectively. Rounding out the Lady Warrior scoring was Kelly Kuboushek in 30th place in a time of 18:17.
