Floyd Alber of Maynard will celebrate his 100th birthday at an open house from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at Maynard Community Hall in Maynard.

 The celebration will be hosted by son Larry and Joy Alber of Mukwonago, Wis., and daughter Iva Jean Kaune of Fayette.

Floyd was born May 25, 1915, in Guide Rock, Neb. In 1937, he married Marie Woods of Bladen, Neb.; she died in 1996. Floyd lived and worked in Sterling, Ill., during WWII. He farmed 7 miles east of Maynard for over 50 years before retiring at age 84.

In addition to his two children, Floyd’s family includes seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to join the celebration, but no gifts, please.
