   Harlo Ames Meyer, age 78, of Sac City, IA, passed away at Loring Hospital in Sac City on Wednesday, July 15, 2015.  Harlo was born in Fayette County, IA, on February 19, 1937 to Harvey and Amy (Nelson) Meyer.  He grew up in Castalia, IA and graduated in 1955 from Clermont High School.  Following graduation Harlo enlisted in the United States Army serving his country from January 1955 through October 1957 in the 2nd Platoon Combat Construction.

   On January 11, 1958, Harlo was united in marriage to Delores Kerr.  They were blessed with three children: Anna, Kerrin, and Jason.  They made their home in Sac City where Harlo was a self employed contractor for many years and cut trees.  He enjoyed the time he got to spend with his family, grandchildren and great-grandson.  He especially enjoyed going for rides in his doodle bug with his granddaughter and gardening.  Delores passed away August 25, 1998.

   Survivors include his daughter Anna Anderson of Sac City; his sons: Kerrin Meyer and  Heather of Sac City and Jason Meyer and wife Melissa of Steven’s Point, WI; grandchildren: KayDee Anderson, Cameron (Crystal Huster) Remmick, and Chase and Colby Meyer; great-grandson Keaton Remmick; sisters: Ilo Mae Becker of Clermont and Wanda Kamp (Bill Lile) of Nevada, IA; and extended family members.

   Harlo was preceded in death by his parents; wife Delores; parents-in-law Robert and Grace Kerr; brothers-in-law: Bud Becker, Robert Kerr, Jr., and Ed Kamp.

    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the First Chrisitan Church in Sac City with Reverend Sharla Hulsey officiating.  Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Sac City under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

   Visitation is from 5-7:00 p.m., Friday, July 17th at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City.
