School board candidates prepare to run

 

 

School board elections in Iowa are scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 8. North Fayette and Valley school districts will both have vacancies to fill in the coming election. Following are the candidates seeking election or re-election in each district.

 

North Fayette

            Carolyn Roys is running for District 2, the position previously held by Randy Tope, who is not running again.

Roy Guenther has been on the North Fayette school board for 19 years and currently serves as president. He is running for re-election in District 3.

John Michael is running as a write-in candidate for the North Fayette school board in District 1

Marc Rue is running as an incumbent in District 7. He was originally appointed to the board in January 2014 to replace a member who resigned. 

 

Valley

            Eileen Schlawin is running as an incumbent and has served on the Valley school board for four years.

Stacy Cummings is running as an incumbent seeking a second term on the Valley school board.

Dawn Daughton is running as an incumbent for the Valley school board in the upcoming election. She has been on the board for 10 years having served as vice president for the last four years.
