Darlene Cummings Willadsen, 91, of Clermont, Iowa passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society in West Union, Iowa. 

Darlene, the daughter of Fritz A. and Gladine T. (Mays) Nottnagel, was born December 21, 1924 in Marquette, Iowa. 

She graduated from Marquette High School. 

Darlene was united in marriage with Hubert R. Cummings on October 7, 1944. To this union, seven children were born.  Hubert preceded her in death on September 10, 1993.

Darlene was then married to Dale Willadsen on May 12, 1995.  Dale preceded her in death on October 16, 2012. 

Darlene and Hubert farmed north of Clermont from 1949 until 1993, when they moved to Elgin, Iowa.  They spent many winters in Apache Junction, Arizona and travelled to many places around the United States and Europe.

Darlene was a member of East Clermont Lutheran Church, rural Clermont.  She taught Sunday School and Bible School. 

Darlene always maintained a large garden, she loved to cook, and quilt. She also served as a 4H Leader.  Darlene especially loved spending time with and caring for her family.

Darlene is survived by her seven children, Karen (Harold) Schaffer of Davenport, Iowa; Linda (Tim) Lindquist of Jesup, Iowa; Duane (Donna) Cummings of Reno, Nevada; Tom (Lenna) Cummings of Clermont, Iowa; Marie (Lynn) (Beckwith) Ohlson of Omaha, Nebraska; Terry (Danice) Cummings of Clermont, Iowa; and Devin (Kathy) Cummings of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, Joel Schaffer; John Schaffer; Jeff (Sharla) Berns; Darren (Brenna) Cummings; Darrick Cummings; Darci Cummings; Amy Abler; Ryan (Tracy) Cummings; Chris (Stacy) Cummings; A’Laina Beckwith; Julia (David) Chase; DeAnna (D.J.) Bierd; Tim (Amy) Cummings; Travis (Jessica) Cummings; and Sam Cummings; many great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Darlene was preceded in death by her two husbands, Hubert and Dale; a grandson, Aaron Berns; her parents; a sister, Ruth Pettit; and three brothers, Donald, Raymond, and Frederick Nottnagel.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the East Clermont Lutheran Church, rural Clermont, Iowa. Rev. Lee Boleyn and Rev. Ron Roberts will be the officiants.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at East Clermont Lutheran Church and one hour before services at the church on Friday.

Interment will be held in the East Clermont Lutheran Cemetery, Clermont, Iowa.
