Christopher J. Gruver

Chris Gruver, 45, of Hawkeye, died Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at Unity Point/Allen Hospital in Waterloo.

Celebration of life services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Hawkeye with Rev. Jim Harbaugh officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Christopher James, son of Terrance and Carol Morf Gruver, was born August 18, 1971, at Waterloo, Iowa. He received his education in the Cedar Falls Schools. Chris was a self-employed tractor mechanic and lived in Hawkeye for several years.

He is survived by his father, Terry Gruver of Traer; four daughters, Cassaundra Huwald of Mauston, Wisconsin, Jacqlynne Chizewsky of Tucson, Arizona, and Emma and Caroline Gruver of Hawkeye; one granddaughter, Kalli Small; a brother, Josh Brayton of Sumner; a nephew, Derek Brayton; and his step father, John Kaiserlik of Hawkeye.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Carol; aunt, Jan Morf; uncle, Jim Morf; and sister-in-law, Heather Brayton.
