Edward Eugene Harrison, 61, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at Emery Place Living in Robins, Iowa, afer a long and brave battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Eddie was born June 11, 1955, to Raymond and Dorothy (Rogers) Harrison at St. Joseph’s Hospital in New Hampton.

He was baptized July 10, 1955, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg and confirmed June 22, 1969, at Stapleton Lutheran Church, rural Waucoma.

Eddie graduated from North High School in West Union in 1973.

Upon his graduation, he enlisted in the Navy, where he served our country until 1982. He loved being in the Navy.

He was then employed at Duane Arnold/Alliant Energy Nuclear Power Plant in Palo for 32 years. He was very dedicated to his work.

On May 18, 2002, Eddie was united in marriage with Bonnie Lawrence.

He enjoyed jogging, biking, driving his Silver Anniversary Trans Am, riding motorcycles/scooters with his wife, their cats, and being with family and friends.

Eddie will be missed by his wife, Bonnie Harrison of Cedar Rapids; his parents, Raymond and Dorothy Harrison of Fredericksburg; his father-in-law, Kenny Lawrence; two brothers, Danny (JoAnn) Harrison of Fredericksburg and Dale (Joan) Harrison of Decorah; a sister, Patricia (Victor) Patterson of Clermont; a sister-in-law, Gina Lawrence-Sokol; two nephews, D.J. (Sara) Harrison of Fredericksburg and Alex (Jessie) Harrison of Wellsburg; a niece, Jamie Harrison of Cedar Falls; four grandnieces, Sierra Harrison of Rochester, Minnesota, and Trista, Jocelyn and Sadie Harrison of Fredericksburg; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Eddie was preceded in death by his grandparents and a niece, Celena Harrison.

Services were held Monday, Jan. 30, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids with visitation the night before at Cedar Memorial.

A military graveside service was held Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg.          5u5
