South Winneshiek’s 2017 homecoming is right around the corner!

This year’s theme is “The Warriors Got ‘Game’ (board games) and will be celebrated throughout the week of Sept. 18 through Sept. 22, with a hallway decorating competition set to be held Friday, Sept. 15.

Dress-up days for this year’s celebration are as follows:

  •  Monday – Use Your “Cranium” (dress like a nerd);
  •  Tuesday – Be a Part of the “Operation” (dress like a doctor, nurse, or patient);
  •  Wendesday – “Twister” Class Distinction (each class dresses in a color from the Twister board game);
  •  Thursday – “Life” on the Farm (dress as a farmer or your favorite barnyard animal);
  •  Friday – Spirit Day!

Homecoming Day activities on Friday, Sept. 22, will include Ag Olympics and parade float decorating in the morning, followed by a pep rally at 12:35 p.m. and Coronation at 1:15 p.m.

The Homecoming parade will be held at 2 p.m. through downtown Calmar.

Homecoming court for 2017 includes King candidates Noah Faldet, Joshua Lensing, Jackson Lukes, and Wyatt Trezona and Queen candidates Cassidy Frana, Alexa Jacobsen, Madisen Ondrashek, and Jaden Schweinefus.

Homecoming concludes with the traditional football game, which will kick off at 7 p.m. in Calmar against BCLUW.
