NFV bowlers open season

North Fayette Valley opened its third season of bowling with a trip to Forest City on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Both the TigerHawk boys’ and girls’ teams lost to the Indians.

The boys were hampered by the fact they only had four bowlers who were able to make the pre-Thanksgiving trip. That meant NFV had to take a zero for two frames during each Baker Round game.

Forest City won the singles matches, 1805-1378, and the Baker Round, 888-653, to win the contest, 2693-2031.

Colin Gavin led the TigerHawks with a very consistent, 195-196-391, which tied him with FC’s Jarred Thompson for high series.

Hunter Kelly rolled a 199-163-362. Brian Roulson (122-211-333) and Trenton Clausen (139-153-292) also represented NFV. Roulson’s 211 was the high singles game for either team.

The girls have five bowlers on the team, and all bowled Tuesday. The girls lost to a very talented FC team, 1544-985 in the singles competition and 793-456 in the Baker Round.

Emily Guyer was the top bowler for NFV with a 123-134-257. Paige Woodson was right behind at 133-114-247. Erika Woodson rolled a 107-110-217 while Cassie Koehn (79-64-143) and Shelby Holden (63-58-121) also bowled for the TigerHawks.

NFV will open the home season Friday when Decorah comes to Lilac Lanes in West Union. The action will start at 4 p.m.
