Casey’s General Store in Clermont will host a grand opening event on Friday, Jan. 12, to celebrate its recent expansion of the store.

The ceremony is to celebrate the reopening of the Clermont location along Hwy. 18 after it was expanded by 34’2” by 40’2” to add a kitchen. It all started when Casey’s General Store purchased the gas station from Viafield. After a long planning phase, the local business was closed for renovations for about five weeks starting in late October and reopened on Nov. 27, 2017.

“We can make pizza, subs, and even cake donuts in-house now,” said Henrietta De La Rosa, Casey’s General Store general manager. “Basically, anything you can find at the Casey’s in West Union, you will now be able to find here in Clermont.”

Other items new to the store include liquor, fountain drinks, and frozen treats.

With the expansion came an increase in staff, as De La Rose noted she just hired two new employees to bring her crew up to 11.

On Jan. 12, customers who go to the store can enter themselves for one of several prize drawings. Those prizes include 12 free large, one-topping pizzas; 12 free dozen of Casey’s donuts; 12 free six-inch subs; and four $25 Casey’s gift cards.

The store will also have the following specials: All donuts and Casey’s cookies are 39 cents each while supplies last; a large single-topping pizza will be $8.99; a slice of pizza will be $1.49; any size fountain soda will be 59 cents; six-inch subs will cost $2.49; and free coffee will be available.

Be sure to stop by Casey’s General Store in Clermont on Jan. 12 for your chance to win one of several great prizes or pick up an item at a special discount.
