The South Winneshiek girls’ basketball team had a stellar week on the court, winning all three of its matchups and extending its winning streak to four games.

The Warriors began the week Monday, Feb. 4, with an impressive 66-16 win over Upper Iowa Conference foe Postville.

South Winn built a 48-10 lead by halftime and continued to control the game throughout the final two quarters.

Sophomore Ali Hoffert had a game-high 23 points, while the senior trio of Gracie Schmitt, Shira Hageman, and Sadie McGee each added 11 points.

On Tuesday evening, the Warriors hosted Central Elkader and again, emerged with a victory.

South Winn got out to a great start as it held a 20-8 halftime lead, which eventually led to a 43-33 win.

Ali Hoffert led the way in scoring with 19 points and also had a game-high 13 rebounds. Senior Ashley Kriener also had a great game down in the paint as she gathered 11 rebounds.

Saturday night, the Warriors began postseason play with another victory over Postville. South Winn led 45-6 at the half and was able to cruise to a 66-17 victory.
