Dorothy Perry

Dorothy Marie Perry, 77, of Castalia, Iowa died Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Dorothy was born November 3, 1942 to Lawrence and Effie (Ewing) Martin in Waukon, Iowa. She attended country school through the eighth grade.

Dorothy was united in marriage with Lavern Perry on October 2, 1962 in Preston, Minnesota.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia, Iowa. Dorothy worked for Iowa Turkey Products for a short time. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, listening to country music, baking, making special cakes for her children, canning and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving Dorothy are her children, Daniel Perry of Castalia, Iowa and Joan (Jurgen Ries) Teff of Calmar, Iowa; two grandchildren, Marc Teff  and Faith Teff, both of Calmar, Iowa; her siblings, Ralph (Pearl) Martin of Postville, Iowa and Loretta (Dale Kiesau) Oakland of Waukon, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Marian Limkemann of Plainfield, Iowa and Geneva Perry of West Union, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time.

Private Family Services will be held.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Postville, Iowa is assisting the family.
