Round up of area Fourth of July events

 

The following is a round up of area Fourth of July events.

Clermont

Skip-A-Way Resort and Campground will be having a Sip and Shop Craft and Vendor Show on Saturday, July 3, followed by fireworks over the lake at dusk and live music by the band Lonesome Road, 9 p.m., to 1 a.m.

Festina

This weekend, Festina will be the place to be on Independence Day as the town will host several activities on Sunday, July 4.

The Moo Mobile will be on hand from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. near the Parish Center. At 10:30 a.m., a parade will be held through town. Following the parade, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., a chicken dinner fried by Mike Reicks will be served via drive-thru at the Parish Center.

To cap off the day, a fireworks display will be held after dusk.

Spillville

 

The annual Spillville Independence Day celebration is just around the corner. This year’s event will be held Saturday, July 3, at Riverside Park and The Inwood.

Gates will open at 2 p.m. with an admission of $3 per person and $5 per car.

The fun begins that morning with a Fun Run at 8:30 a.m. Check in will begin at 8 a.m. at the St. Wenceslaus school parking lot. 

Starting at 2 p.m. in the park, there will be glitter tattoos available. At 3 p.m., bingo will get underway inside The Inwood.

At 4 p.m., a Community Band will begin playing with free root beer and free watermelon being given out shortly after at 4:30 p.m.

Food vendors will be available inside The Inwood and the Moo Mobile will also be on the grounds.

From 5:30 until 8:30 p.m., Stone Senate will be playing on the Ludwig Stage. A freewill donation will be taken for the show.

To top off the night, the largest fireworks display in northeast Iowa will light up the sky at 9:30 p.m. The show will be put on by the SWAGG Pyrotechnics Team. Music for the fireworks show will be simulcast on KNEI 103.5.
