Chad and Melissa Hoover of West Union wish to announce the birth of their daughter Alexandria Jo Hoover.

Alexandria was born at 8:24 a.m. on March 3, 2017, at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah. She weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. and was 20 inches in length at birth.

Alexandria has four sisters, Abby, 8; Bella, 6; Lizzie, 5; and Katie, 22 months.

Grandparents are Gary and Karen Skinner of West Union and Cindy and Dale Olson of Oelwein.

Verna Skinner of Ossian is Alexandria’s great-grandmother.

Tom and Joyce Huinker of Fort Atkinson will note their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 1.

They celebrated the occasion with their family earlier.

Tom Huinker and Joyce Becker were married July 1, 1967, at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Ossian.

They have two children, Tracy (Kirk Nosbisch) and Kyle (Karen) Huinker, and seven grandchildren.

Nicole Haywood and Bob Olson of Phoenix, Ariz., exchanged wedding vows in a 4 p.m. ceremony on Sunday, May 28, at Prairie Moon Winery in Ames. The Rev. Corey Larson officiated.

Parents of the bride are Charlie and Linda Haywood of Union. Parents of the groom are Mick and Mary Olson of Postville.

Grandparents of the bride are Richard and Leona Smith of Cedar Rapids and Arvin and Carolyn Haywood of Union. Grandfather of the groom is Bob Heffern of Waukon.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an off-the-shoulder ivory gown featuring a lace overlay and train. She carried a bouquet of pale pink hydrangeas, succulents and roses.

Bridesmaids were Jessica Bane, Kathryn Schiefelbein, Kate Rose Russel, Julia Trausch and Hope Zefran.

Mahayla Bernadine Hanson, Bob’s niece, was the flower girl.

Groomsmen were Drew Lensch, Sawyer Stecher, Tyler Schori, Colin Duffy and Colin Shiver.

George B. Woodard of West Union will observe his 90th birthday on Monday, July 10. In celebration of this milestone, he will be honored by his family with a card shower. 

A lifelong resident of West Union, George would love to hear from friends, neighbors and relatives, both near and far. 

He and his wife, Iris, have three children, Nancy (Bill) Marker of Clinton, N.J., Dick Woodard of West Union, and Jane (Jonathan) Aves of Winston-Salem, N.C. Their family also includes four grandchildren.

Donald and Vivian Lott will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday, June 29.

The Lott children and grandchildren will be hosting an open house celebration from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at the Volga City Opera House in Volga City.

Donald Ray Lott and Vivian Mae Beckner were married Saturday, June 29, 1957, in Waterloo, where both were raised. They have lived in LaPorte City, Wadena, and now reside in Volga City.

The Lotts are the parents of eight children, Daniel of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Diane of Newman, Calif., Michael of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Linda of Olathe, Kan., Joseph of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Samuel of Volga City, Thomas of Wadena, and Luke of Colesburg. They also have 13 grandchildren.

Alan and Janann Seabrooke of Elgin celebrated the 60th anniversary of their wedding on Friday, June 2.

Alan A. Seabrooke and Janaan M. Mork met while they were students at Upper Iowa University in Fayette. They were married June 2, 1957, at Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder.

Janann is the daughter of the late Kenneth B. Mork and Georgia Meyer Mork, both of Elgin. Alan’s parents are the late Arthur M. and Henrietta Seabrooke of Cedar Rapids.

The Seabrookes are the parents of Jill (Randy) Mack of Earlville and Tim (Brenda) Seabrooke of Elgin. They also have eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. One grandson and one great-granddaughter are deceased. 

Al and Janann will celebrate their anniversary with their family at a later date.
