Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Schlawin

Jerry and Kathy Schlawin of Elkport will celebrate 50 years of marriage with an anniversary open house in their honor on Saturday, Sept. 3.

The celebration will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Community Room at Freedom Bank in Elkader. All friends and relatives are invited to attend, but no gifts, please.

Jerry Schlawin and Kathy Kottman were married Sept. 2, 1966, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thornton, Iowa.

They farmed near Klemme until purchasing a farm near Elkport, where they still reside.

The couple are the parents of Carol (Greg) Johnson and Gary (Eileen) Schlawin, both of Elgin. Their family also includes five grandsons and a great-granddaughter.

Jason and Lori Moellers of West Union will celebrate their 25^th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Aug. 24.

Jason Moellers and Lori Krivachek were married by Msgr. Donald Heineman at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson on Aug. 24, 1991.

Lori is employed as the Fayette County Auditor, and Jason is engaged in farming.

They are the parents of four children, Beth of North Liberty; Tony and Krista, both of Ames; and John, at home.

Charles Baumler and Patricia Jones were married Aug. 11, 1956, at Maynard Presbyterian Church.

Sixty years later they have remained in the area, living just outside Wadena, where they raised their three daughters. They now enjoy retirement and visits from their many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patricia can often be found tending to her flowers or Charles mowing their lawn. They are also frequently found in the stands cheering on a grandchild or great-grandchild in their activities.

Robert and Mildred Steinbronn will celebrate their 65^th wedding anniversary on Friday, July 29.

The couple were married July 29, 1951, at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein.

Their family includes children Michael Steinbronn, Carolyn (Scott) Luchsinger, Sherryl (Rob) Pennebaker, all of Fayette, Robert Jr. (Deb) Steinbronn of Mt. Vernon, and Douglas Steinbronn of River Falls, Wis.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
