Majella Koudelka

Majella Koudelka of New Hampton, formerly of Little Turkey, will celebrate her 100^th birthday on Sunday, Sept. 6, with an open house for family and friends.

The celebration will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehab Center, located at 703 South Fourth Avenue.

Majella’s family includes two daughters, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Her husband, James, is deceased.

Mr. and Mrs. Steven Zobel

Steven and Tracy Zobel of Traer celebrated their 25^th anniversary on Sept. 1.

Steven Zobel and Tracy Moellers were married Sept. 1, 1990, at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union.  

Tracy is the daughter of Theresa Moellers of West Union and the late Ralph Moellers.

Steven is a dairy farmer, and Tracy works for Quicken Loans. They have four children, Taylor, Allison, Samantha, and Brian.

In celebration of their parents’ anniversary, the couple’s children invite friends and relatives to shower Steven and Tracy with cards and notes.

Majella is the mother of two daughters, Shirley (Jack) Sabelka of Little Turkey and Jane (Don) Bruch of Emmetsburg. She also has nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Margaret Addy

Margaret Addy will celebrate her 90th birthday on Thursday, August 27. Friends and family are invited to join her in honoring Margaret with a card shower.

Mr. and Mrs. Duane Bushman

Duane and Shirley Bushman of Decorah will celebrate 50 years of marriage with an open house from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, at the Festina Community Center in Festina.

All are invited to join the Bushmans as they mark this special occasion.

The couple have five children, Todd (Connie) Bushman, Kim (Greg) DeWeese, Stacy (Nicole) Bushman, Shanna (Doug) Schweinefus, and Chad (Manon) Bushman. Their family also includes 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. James Penning

Stephanie Drewes of West Union and James Penning of Northfield, Minn., exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, July 11. The 4 p.m. outdoor ceremony took place at Wildberry Winery in Decorah with the Rev. Tom Buresh officiating.

Parents of the couple are Steven and Olivia Drewes of West Union and Mark and Cathy Penning of Northfield, Minn.

Marie Krambeer

…80^th birthday…

Marie Krambeer will celebrate her 80^th birthday next Tuesday. 

Born in McGregor on Aug. 4, 1935, she lived there until she moved to West Union in 1954, when she married Raymond Krambeer (deceased in 2002). 

A celebration with family and friends will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, West Union, on Sunday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m. following the 9 a.m. worship service. A family dinner at Marie’s home will be enjoyed later that day. 

The birthday celebration is being hosted by Marie’s six children and their spouses: Pam and Dennis Lueder of West Union, Barb and Dan Fowler of Sumner, Gary Krambeer of Cedar Rapids, Cheryl and Dennis Schwake of Sumner, Alan and Kathy Krambeer of Marion, and Roger Krambeer of Cedar Rapids, as well as her seven grandchildren: Jeremy and Ben Lueder, Jena and Mason Schwake, Matt and Nick Krambeer, and Drake Krambeer; grandson Andrew Lueder is deceased.

Lloyd and Adeline Meier of Clermont will celebrate 65 years of marriage with a private gathering of family and friends on Sunday, Aug. 2. A highlight of the celebration will be music, including a special prelude, at the 8:30 a.m. Mass at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Clermont.

Lloyd Meier and Adeline Wilken were united in marriage on Aug. 17, 1950, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Strawberry Point.

Their family includes three children, Kathy (Tim) Schultz of Rice Lake, Wis., Lori (Terry) Wear of Fountain Valley, Calif., and Kevin (Barb) Meier of Indianola. Lloyd and Adeline have also been blessed with nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
