Inez Luchsinger

Inez Luchsinger of Elgin will be the guest of honor at a celebration of her 90^th birthday on Saturday, Feb. 14.

An open house will be hosted by Inez’s family from noon to 5:30 p.m. on Valentine’s Day at the Elgin Legion Building in Elgin. A light luncheon will be served throughout the afternoon.

The family requests no gifts, please, but adds that the blessing of your presence at her birthday celebration would make Inez’s day even more special.

Owen Alan Schott

Tyler and Kinsli Schott of Elgin are proud to announce the birth of their son, Owen Alan.

Owen was born at 8:27 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union. He weighed 9 lbs. 7 oz. and measured 21 inches.

He is the couple’s first child.

Grandparents are Kerry and Marjie Kleve of Waucoma and Troy and Judy Schott of Clermont.

 Great-grandparents are Gary Schott and Karolyn Moritz of Eldorado, Margaret Phillips and Margaret Kleve, both of Waucoma.

Roger and Elaine Kleve of Cresco will celebrate their 50^th wedding anniversary with a family dinner and a trip out West this summer.

Roger Kleve and Elaine Schmitt were married Jan. 30, 1965, at St. Luke Catholic Church in St. Lucas.

Their family includes five children, Alan (Maryke) Kleve of Connersville, Ind., Dennis (Dawn) Kleve of Dundee, Judy (Daniel) Praska of Bloomington, Minn., Janet (Russell) Arthurs of Richmond, Ontario, Canada, and John (Lynn) Kleve of Wykoff, Minn.; 16 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Roger and Elaine are retired dairy farmers but continue to crop farm their land.

Griffin Skinner

Brandon and Danielle Skinner of Jesup welcomed son Griffin Gary into the world on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014.

Born at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Griffin weighed 8 lbs. 10 oz. and was 21½ inches in length.

He has three older sisters, Cassie, Kylee, and Kinzee, and an older brother, Cole.

Grandparents are Gary and Karen Skinner of West Union and Dan and Jean Mayne of Graf.

Verna Skinner of Ossian is the great-grandmother.

Caleb Gumm

Caleb John Gumm, son of Kennon and Katie Gumm of West Union, was born Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union.

He weighed 8 lbs. 7.5 oz. and measured 21.5 inches at birth.

Caleb was welcomed home by big brother Collin, 3. Grandparents are Dick and Diane Franzen of Hastings, Minn., and Bill Gumm of Westgate.

Caleb’s great-grandmother is Wanda Piper of Waucoma.
