SW takes over top spot in UIC after 6-0 week

It was a spectacular week for the South Winneshiek baseball team as the Warriors rattled off six consecutive wins against prime competition last week.
Postville
South Winn opened the week with an Upper Iowa Conference doubleheader against Postville on Monday (June 10).
“This is an important week for us in conference play and getting off to a good start in these games was important,” said coach Alex Smith.
In game one of the day, the Warriors picked up a 12-2 win and were led by Carter Wenthold who went 3-4 with a team-high four RBI. On the mound, Jaron Todd struck out seven batters in only 3 2/3 innings of work.
In game two of the evening, the Warriors earned a 14-0 win in only five innings as junior Kody Kleve led the way with a 2-3, 3-RBI performance. On the mound, Ethan Luzum earned the win as he struck out six batters over four innings of work.
