On Monday, West Central softball lost a twin bill to Kee High in Maynard. However, when it counted Friday in the Class 1A Region 7 opener on Friday at Kee, the Devils turned the tables in a 2-0 upset win in eight innings.

After seven scoreless innings, the Blue Devils scored twice when Abby Squires singled, Hannah Scott doubled her to third, and Sydney Teague drove in the eventual winning run with flyball to center.

NFV baseball’s season was over after District 7 in Monona Saturday night. For the fourth time this season, MFL/MM beat the TigerHawks; this time, 10-0.

NFV softball sealed the deal last week, sweeping MFL/MM and Postville to earn a share of the Upper Iowa Conference crown.

The first sweep of the week came Monday, June 6, when the Bulldogs came to town.

It was a busy week for South Winn softball, playing games during the week.

Everything started Monday, June 19, with a doubleheader with Clayton Ridge in Calmar.

The opener was pretty much a rout with SW winning, 11-1, in six innings.

A dramatic two-out walk-off double by Jamie Kuennen clinched the UIC baseball crown for South Winn Monday, June 19, in Calmar.

Visiting Kee High needed a sweep and some help during the week, but still had an outside chance coming into Monday’s game.

NFV baseball started the week with a three-game win streak, including a stunning 5-4 upset of UIC leading South Winn.

The streak began Monday, June 19, with a sweep of Clayton Ridge in West Union.

Game one was close all the way, with the TigerHawks using a two-run third to win, 2-1.
